Ranger is an innovation from U.S. Bank. It is a service you can use to manage your money in several financial institutions to help you achieve your financial goals. As an innovation from U.S. Bank, Ranger offers the security for your personal information that you would expect from a large bank, but you should make sure to carefully review the terms and conditions for Ranger to understand how your Ranger relationship differs from having a traditional bank account at U.S. Bank.
Ranger is an account aggregation service that can help you manage your finances by allowing you to have a consolidated view of select account information from your accounts held at other financial institutions and U.S. Bank. (Check account balances, recent transactions and even review spending and budgets).
Ranger can help you identify opportunities to detect the funds you have in low yield accounts and showing you options for higher yield accounts. You can also use Ranger to fund new accounts and move money between accounts that you have linked to Ranger.
Once logged into the app, click on the menu in the top right and navigate to "Help & Legal", click "Support Request" to get help from the Ranger support team. If you are not logged into the app, please select "Support Request."
Ranger is available for free. However, message and data rates may apply to some features of Ranger. You are responsible for any fees and charges that may apply to the download and use of Ranger on any device or network that is not provided by us or our Service Providers. You may encounter fees or charges associated with any account changes you choose to make.
Ranger is available to customers located in the United States and U.S. Territories. Customers must also have a United States based mobile phone number.
To add accounts, go to the accounts tab, then click on "Add an Account." In the search bar, search for the institution for which you have an account. When you find the connection for the account type you have with that institution, select that connection. You will then be asked to enter your username and password used to log in to that home banking site.
If your institution is not found, please complete these steps to request the institution be added.
- On the Accounts page, please click on the "+ Add an Account" button.
- Click on "Add a Manual Account" and fill out the appropriate fields.
- After the Manual Account is created, go to your Transactions page and click on "+ Add"
Please check back in 60 days to see if the connection is available. This may take some time and we apologize for the inconvenience.
You will need to mark the account as closed in the app. To do so click on the account which will get you to the account details. Next, click on the “...” menu, then tap on “Mark as Closed”. You will need to confirm that you want to mark the account as closed before the action will take place. To do so type CLOSE in the text box and then click on Close Account. Please note you cannot undo this action.
Yes, you can hide the account. To do so click on the account which will get you to the account details. Next, click on the “...” menu, then tap on “Hide Account”. You will then confirm that you want to hide the account. The account will now be listed in the accounts section on hidden, at anytime you can unhide the account. To do so click on the account and then proceed to tap “unhide” at the top of your screen.
Accounts cannot be unlinked from the Ranger app. If there is an account that you no longer have and wish not to display on the app, you can open a service request to have the account removed from the app.
If you choose to open an account with a featured financial institution, you will be redirected to the website of that financial institution to apply for the account. Ranger makes no guarantee that you will receive the stated rate(s) or that you will be approved for an account. Once your account is open you will need to link it to Ranger before you are able to move money to or from that account.
Before you can start transferring funds you will need to complete our one-time enrollment and verification process.
The standard processing time for transfers is 3-5 business days.
To cancel a transfer, you’ll need to contact the bank that the transfer is coming from. Transfers may only be canceled on the same business day they were initiated. Eligible transfer may be cancelled up until 4pm CST. If you have initiated the transfer after 4pm CST, you will have until 4pm CST the next business day to cancel the transfer.

We use industry accepted standards, protocols and precautions to protect your Personally Identifiable Information from loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards, including using firewall barriers, encryption techniques, authentication procedures, and 256-Bit SSL (secure socket layer) encryption.
Your Ranger account is protected by the credentials you set up (e.g. password, fingerprint, face ID). If you need your account removed from a previous device, please submit a support request from the Ranger app’s Create user/Login screen or from the Ranger website (www.therangerapp.com).
For quick access to data, some data is stored on your device. Data on your device is encrypted and can be further protected by setting a password on the app as well as a password on your device. Unlinking or logging out of the app removes data from the device and requires a full sync the next time you link your device.
Malware and viruses can affect any computer system, even mobile devices. To protect yourself, always be sure to keep your device up to date and only install apps from well-known sources such as the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Accounts are set to automatically refresh once every 24 hours. The refresh generally happens sometime between 2 AM to 6 AM in the local time of where the financial institution is located. If your transactions haven’t updated from the previous day, try logging out of the application and then log back in. There is also a sync button you can click on within the app, this will refresh your accounts.
From time to time apps can freeze. First try to force quit the app (not running in the background). If that doesn’t fix the issue, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the app.
Customers can only be logged in from one mobile device.
No, you can’t change the email address you have registered in the Ranger system at this time.

On the login screen click "Forgot Password" and follow the prompts.

To prevent any mis-key mistakes, we advise making sure you enter all information manually and without using tools like copy & paste or predictive text.
No, Ranger profiles are private. Only you can see your profile, we do not share your profile information.
You will need to submit a support request through the app. In the request, you’ll need to provide your email address and first and last name.
To delete the financial institution, follow these steps: click on the top right hamburger menu, then click on settings, next click on accounts. From there choose the financial institution you want to delete. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and then click on Delete Institution. You will then click on the Delete button to confirm you want to delete the institution. (Main Menu -> Settings -> Accounts -> Select Institution -> Delete Institution).
Yes, Ranger will post a maintenance message in the event of a problem.
Transfers can fail for a variety of reasons, including invalid account numbers or insufficient funds.
We advise checking the account balance and the destination account number prior to attempting another transfer.
A high-yield account is a federally-insured account that typically pays a higher interest rate than a traditional deposit savings account.
Ranger insights offer users a personalized feed of key financial information based on account activities, such as category spending, payroll deposits, etc.
